The Glambot is a streamlined, super-speedy robot camera system that shoots dazzling slow-motion video. But few realize that the origins of Glambot go back to food commercials, where such rigs were utilized to shoot burgers dropping in slow motion. In 2016, E! Entertainment created this idea anew on the red carpet, as director Cole Walliser brought it to fruition and provided stars with a new vehicle to shine.
At the center of Glambot's sorcery is its robotic arm, which glides precisely across the subject, tracing a preset path—no unsteady hands here. It records video at ultra-high frame rates (240 to 1,000 frames per second), so a few seconds of movement can be stretched into an entire minute of silky-smooth, cinematic stuff. Hair flicks, flowing garments, glinting jewelry—all rendered in crystal clarity.
The camera rig is versatile and accommodating, from GoPros to full-fledged cinema cameras. It's directed by Bluetooth or USB-C and includes an app interface where you can select various motion paths, transitions, and effects such as zoom-ins or freeze frames. All of this in real-time, on the fly.
While it's a classic on Hollywood red carpets, the Glambot is now causing a splash at corporate functions, brand events, weddings, and exclusive parties. It gives participants a cool, one-of-a-kind experience—who wouldn't want to be treated like a film star for a few seconds? From fashion award shows to product launches, it's become the installation of choice to provide that "wow" and generate shareable social media moments.
Logistically, Glambot requires a room of approximately 12x12 feet with a ceiling height of 9–10 feet. It operates using normal power and does not require an internet connection, but videos can be streamed through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth in real time.
