Indian author, actor, poet, comedian, and filmmaker Varun Grover. In 2015, he took home the Best Lyricist trophy from the 63rd National Film Awards. In addition, he co-created the political satire program Aisi Taisi Democracy. The 52nd IFFR's concluding film was his maiden feature, All India Rank.Grover's father was an army engineer and his mother was a school teacher. He was born in Sundernagar, HP. He comes from a Punjabi household. His early years were spent at Sundernagar and Dehradun, Uttarakhand, before he moved to Lucknow to enter adolescence. At the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi, he majored in civil engineering and graduated in 2003.
