He is very passionate about making the harmonium a solo concert instrument and also about exploring fusion and modern styles.
Omkar came from a family of musicians. He started performing when he was very young and trained hard in harmonium and singing with his grandfather, Surmani Pt. Uttamrao Agnihotri. He took his harmonium training to the next level with teachers like Pt. Vishwanath Kanhere and Ustad Siraj Khan. He also learned piano and keyboard from great teachers, which helped him become a more versatile and skilled musician.
Omkar's talent has earned him the titles of graded artist of All India Radio and empanelled artist with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). These are two of the highest honors for classical musicians in India. He became more well-known when he competed on the reality music show Sangeet Samrat, where he stood out as one of the few harmonium players among the top contestants.
Omkar Agnihotri is known for his soulful harmonium solos and expressive piano performances. He has performed at large music festivals and concert halls, where he blends the best of classical tradition with fresh thoughts. His musical philosophy extends not only to performance but also to composing songs, including collaborations that reveal how deeply he thinks as an artist.
