About Underground Authority
Underground Authority (UA) is India's only strong rap-rock group, whose sound strives more to express than to impress. Being one of India's most popular and influential bands, this soundscape of raw rap verses married with hard-hitting rock has really electrified fusion within which listeners can connect themselves. Their music reflects the struggles and aspirations of the common man and gives voice to the issues facing everyday people, encouraging the individual to stand up for himself and work towards a better tomorrow.
The lyrics for UA are not just mere words but a call to action about all societal issues, battles on personal levels, and what could bring people closer together is the call for self-empowerment. They create to inspire people to push out challenges and push for a world that is changed around.
The band has gained many accolades for its exceptional talent, including winning the prestigious Hornbill International Rock Contest in 2013. The members of the band have also been rewarded individually. Epr Iyer was given the Best Vocalist, Soumyadeep Bhattacharya won the Best Bassist, Sourish Kumar was named the Best Drummer, and Adil Rashid became the first runner-up for the Best Guitarist.
Apart from their success stories, UA was also a finalist on India's Got Talent Season 2 and was part of Khoj - 2, thereby cementing their position as Indian music pioneers. Underground Authority inspires and challenges the limits of genres, creating anthems of hope, unity, and resilience.
