About Torsha Sarkar
Torsha Sarkar is a talented Indian singer known for her enchanting voice and energetic performances. She became a national star as the runner-up for Indian Idol Season 4, a highly acclaimed singing reality show broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television. Born in Bhagalpur, India, Torsha had a love of music from an early age. She started studying classical music in the third grade and went on to continue her training up to the tenth grade. Her father is a physician, and her mother is a housewife. Torsha also has a younger sister. She completed her 10+2 at A.G. Sodepur and then shifted to Bengaluru to study for a Bachelor of Science degree. During her academic career, she was an active participant in school competitions, which were mostly won by her, thereby increasing her eagerness to become a playback singer for films.
After her victory on Indian Idol, Torsha went on to make great leaps in her musical career. She was a finalist on Star Plus's "Jo Jeete Wohi Superstar Season 2" and has lent her voice as a playback singer for Tollywood, furthering her range and displaying her versatility through various genres of music.
Torsha's style of music is inspired by globally acclaimed singers like Alka Yagnik, Shreya Ghoshal, and Kailash Kher, whom she declares are her favorite singers. Besides singing, Torsha likes reading novels, especially romance and thriller fiction, which enriches her artistry.
