About Sneha Shankar
Sneha Shankar is an emerging star of the Indian music industry, stealing the limelight as one of the contestants in Indian Idol 2025 - Season 15. Born in Mumbai, music runs deep in her blood. She is the daughter of the famous classical singer Ram Shankar and the granddaughter of the legendary Sufi singer, Shankarji, of the famous duo Shankar Shambhu with whom he made history. Her musical growing up began as early as three years of age, where under her father's guidance teacher, her wonderful voice grew to maturity as a classical and light music singer.
She has taken her singing to an even higher level now, having arrived on Indian Idol 2025. She swayed the judges and audience among the live performances, such as "Yaad Piya Ki Aaye", "Aaj Ibadat", and "Zindagi Mein Koi Kabhi", with her powerful voice and emotional feel with the lyrics and stage presence. There was always a standing ovation after her performances and high praise for judges such as Shreya Ghoshal and Kumar Sanu, with the love of fans across the nation pouring in on for her.
One of the most memorable events of the Indian Idol story was the award of the Platinum Mic during auditions by judge Badshah, which immediately placed her in the Top 15. Besides, she was also awarded the title of "Idol Ki Star Kalakar" for her commendably sustaining excellence. The list of guest celebrities who were impressed by Sneha extends from Jeetendra, Govinda, and Nana Patekar to Urdu poetry lovers, fans and artists such as YouTuber Bhuvan Bam, who praised her soulful voice, adding to her caliber and name in the industry.
Sneha's talent and hard work did not go unnoticed in the industry. Even before the grand finale, she was signed up by Bhushan Kumar of T-series; it was another big feather in her cap. Though she ended up being the first runner-up in the season, she has scaled great heights and has emerged as one of the biggest promising voices of the country.
