Raftaar, whose real name is Dilin Nair and who was born on November 16, 1988, is an Indian rapper, singer, lyricist, and music producer who is famous for his energetic flow, strong lyrics, and presence in the Indian hip-hop industry. He was brought up in Delhi and began his musical career as a dancer before moving to rap and music production.
His career picked up pace when he became a member of the urban music group Mafia Mundeer, which also comprised artists such as Yo Yo Honey Singh and Badshah. Once he left the group, he worked with RDB and Manj Musik and added several hit songs to their credits. His success came with tracks such as Swag Mera Desi, which made him popular across all regions and made him an influence in the Indian rap scene.
Raftaar's career in Bollywood got a head start with songs such as Dhup Chik from Fugly and Tamanche Pe Disco from Bullett Raja, making him a household name in mainstream films. He kept on coming out with top-charting independent tracks and collaborations such as Baby Marvake Maanegi, Instagram Love, and Main Wahi Hoon.
