Their beautiful, genuine sounds reach one's deepest inner self, proclaiming the unfulfilled dreams, fragile happiness, and rawest emotions of the ordinary person. The journey of the band itself speaks of passion, resilience, and above all, the greatness—the power of music in uniting.
This is the beginning of the story of Prithibi, which starts on August 14th, 2003. On that date, Kaushik was jamming with Bubun, who soon brought Samarpan into the fold. It was followed by the joining of Arnab, Proshanto, and Amin, thus completing a strong and dynamic lineup who were to carry forward their own musical vision. This lineup continued until the exit of Amin in December 2007 and the departure of Samarpan in April 2010. But no change could tarnish the ethos of Prithibi, and very recently, Raja, the youngest member of the family, was introduced to the audiences.
It was on this album that Prithibi made its first major foray into the music industry. "Prithibi," the self-titled debut album, came out in 2007 and has since gained popularity with its raw emotion, along with soaring melodies that really catch the audience's hearts. It was also how Prithibi rebounded with another album called "Chapter 2," released in 2010, the reception of which was as warm and welcoming as the debut.
Now, with their anticipated third album on the cards, "Chapter Three," Prithibi has high hopes of tugging on heartstrings once more and conjuring the euphoric feeling that its previous albums brought to the public. With lyrics as poetic as the sounds are passionate, their music continues to tell the stories of common men—love, loss, aspiration, and the spirit of man himself.
From a meeting of pure accoustics to that of a rock concert at its best, the ability and the touch of intimacy with the audience make every show an unforgettable experience. Like evolving, the act has been making music that remains with the body, recalling to every individual that Prithibi is the world all ends—indeed, at the end, we are part of one world as Prithibi.
