Pranav Chadha, who was born on February 5, 2000, in Delhi, is an Indian musician, composer, and actor celebrated for his multidisciplinary involvement in music and film. Pranav began on an academic trajectory with a Master's degree in philosophy but eventually shifted into the arts.
Pranav started training in Hindustani classical music on the bansuri (Indian flute) and vocals at Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in Delhi. Wishing to expand his sphere, Pranav went to the Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music (SAM) in Chennai and studied Western music, jazz, and pop. This opened up his eyes to the world of vocal techniques and operatic singing, and he joined the Neemrana Music Foundation choir in Delhi. Under their guidance, he developed Western classical singing and sang in many operas and operettas.
In 2018, Pranav continued his vocal training at the New Voice Studio in Italy, where he honed his technique and increased his repertoire. Back in India, he moved to Mumbai, doing voice-overs, jingles, and live shows. His versatility can be seen in how he is able to effortlessly blend genres, creating a distinct musical style.
Pranav's musical ability is demonstrated in his original song "Jaan," a melodic composition based on real-life experience. Working alongside other musicians, he added deep instrumentation to the song, such as the involvement of violinist Ajay Jayanthi. This collaborative ethos reflects his determination to produce emotionally charged and poignant music.
Apart from his music, Pranav also experimented with film scoring, composing background music for the short film "Khoon Aali Chithi," made by his sister, actress Richa Chadha. The film, based on the 1980s Khalistan movement in Punjab, had his genuine Punjabi folk numbers in the background that enriched its narrative.
Pranav's professional life as an actor includes works like the films "Pooja Meri Jaan" and forthcoming "Ishq in the Air" (2024), indicating his diversified skill as a performer in the entertainment industry.
