Peyush Bansal (born 26 April 1985 in New Delhi, India) is a visionary entrepreneur, investor, and business mentor. He is best known as the co-founder and CEO of Lenskart, a groundbreaking optical retail and eyewear technology company headquartered in Gurugram that now runs over 2,000 physical stores globally and serves millions of customers via both online and offline channels.

Education & Early Career

Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (2002–2006) from McGill University, Montreal, Canada, where he earned the Dean’s List distinction and the British Honours Award.
Completed the Management Programme for Entrepreneurship and Family Businesses (MPEFB) at IIM Bangalore (2008–2009).
Started his career as a Program Manager at Microsoft USA (2007), working on customer-centric product experiences before moving to India to pursue entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurial Journey

Founded SearchMyCampus.com, a classifieds portal for college students, later forming Valyoo Technologies in 2008.
In 2010, co-founded Lenskart with Amit Chaudhary and Sumeet Kapahi, initially focused on contact lenses, later expanding to sunglasses and eyeglasses. Lenskart’s innovation includes virtual try-ons, in-store eye-check centers, and home eye-testing services.
Under Bansal’s leadership, Lenskart achieved unicorn status in 2019 with a ~$1.5B valuation, expanded across India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the U.S., and raised large funding rounds including from global investors.
