Their unique cover of alternative and progressive music, the dynamic live band of Kolkata, West Bengal, originally started with four members and later became a five-member band, with each member infusing their distinct musical influences and creativity into the performance. Nuxatra has come to gain a reputation over time for its strong original compositions and thrilling performances while alive.
Starting off as Nakshatra, they went through many gigs and competitions, but it was only in 2015 that they came out with their first original composition, Robibar, which marked the beginning of their truly unique musical identity. The band has continued to push boundaries since then and has come up with songs that resonate with the audience on a deep level. The genre-bending sound reflects their music as it draws from bands like Underground Authority, EuphoniX, Euphoria, Parikrama, Motherjane, Indian Ocean, The Local Train, and the legendary AR Rahman.
Nuxatra's performances have received great reviews. They have performed at some of the most coveted events, including Kolkata Youth Fest 2k14, CIEM Celsius 2k16 (where they stood as runner-up), DAITM Fresher's 2k15, and DAITMANIA 2k16.
