Noor Chahal – New Blood Rising in Punjabi Music and Cinema
Noor Chahal, born Prabhnoor Kaur Chahal on August 21, 2000, in Mohali, Punjab, is an Indian singer, actor, and lyricist. Noor has accomplished a lot with her magical voice and graceful screen presence as an emotional celebrity in the Punjabi entertainment industry.
Noor hails from a Sikh family with rich cultural roots, and she knew music even when she was quite little. Noor studied at Yadavindra Public School and got trained in Hindustani classical music under her teacher Sangeeta, whom she credits for encouraging her to pursue this art while doing so very well in academics.
Noor Chahal acted for the first time in a full-fledged movie in 2020 with Ikko Mikke, which starred Satinder Sartaaj. She plays the role of Kiran, who is Sartaaj's younger sister. The entire opportunity came through some connection with college; hence, it marked her official entry into cinema.
In the same year, Noor started her YouTube channel by covering Bollywood and Punjabi folk songs. Her songs quickly gained popularity, resulting in several hundred thousand subscriptions. Audiences especially loved her pure sounds that sounded very different from the traditional Punjabi tracks.
In 2022, Noor made her singing debut with Jhalleya Dila – a song she wrote and composed herself. Also that same year, she appeared in the film Bajre Da Sitta, both in acting and playback singing, thus carving her position as an all-round performer.
Noor went on to feature alongside Canadian Badshah, The PropheC, for their upcoming Malang music video releasing in 2024, where she also contributed as a lyricist. This project showcased her creative range and an international flavour.
Keeping her footsteps in terms of music and acting while staying grounded with her own roots features the story of Noor Chahal. All these have earned her the charm and talent with the sanctification of a rich fan base across India and abroad. Such projects will be for Noor in many more upcoming years, and she is surely one of the brightest young talents in Punjabi entertainment.
