About Nise Meruno

Nise Meruno is a globally recognized pianist and singer from Nagaland, India, who is known for his remarkable musical ability and artistic contributions. He comes from a musically talented family and is the fourth generation of pianists, with his 90-year-old grandmother still playing the piano. He started his musical career at the age of six, learning from Ms. Nikolo Tsuzu and later Mrs. Margaret Shishak. He went on to further develop his abilities in Singapore, learning Western classical singing, conducting, and composition.

Meruno's career is distinguished by performances for high-ranking dignitaries such as the President and Prime Minister of India, besides other high-profile individuals such as Aamir Khan and the Ambani family. He has performed on stages globally, testing his skills as a pianist and vocalist. For his contributions to music, he was awarded the Governor's Award for Excellence in Music. Apart from performance, he directs the all-male choir Zowe Madrigal and is the artistic director of the RS Academia of Music Performance in Dimapur, guiding up-and-coming musicians.

As a cultural ambassador, Meruno works with artists from different disciplines such as dance, poetry, painting, and fashion to build a thriving arts community.
