About Nida Merchant
DJ Nida Merchant, an artist without fear and one who has shown versatility, is a new face in India's electronic music soil. She is a Delhi-based professional, but not just a DJ; she is also a designer and music curator. A DJ that is too well known for sets defying classification: she creates a gooey mixture of house, disco, techno, breakbeat, and drum and bass into a performance that electrifyingly lights dance floors.
This creative journey is where music experimentation began. Major festivals such as Magnetic Fields, Echoes of the Earth, and DGTL have seen Nida on their platforms showcasing her unique sound and powerful stage presence. In 2022, she made her very first international debut in Dubai at the Coca-Cola Arena during the World Tennis League event alongside the EDM legend Armin Van Buuren.
Nida's reach sometimes extends beyond being a DJ. She's the driving force behind ParaDisco, a tour-based music event series that recently saw itself in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, and even London. The Mumbai edition of ParaDisco in 2024 was a success in terms of sold-out numbers. The event was said to be high in terms of energy and music curation envelope pushing.
Distinct fashion sense, though. It was this bold and experimental style, which has now been featured in Cosmopolitan, Word Magazine, and SSS Magazine. Fashion label Kefibynida, the same brave and creative edge that she brings to her music and person.
What makes DJ Nida more than anything else unique is integrating all cultures into sounds and styles to create a fresh experience that feels authentic. Currently, she is also working on releasing her own music, aiming to bring even more originality to the scene. Her performance is bound to be unpredictable and captivating, be it underground parties or packed festivals.
She represents a new wave of Indian artists breaking boundaries that extend beyond their careers. With raw talent, vision, and a relentless love for music and design, she now continues to inspire and influence the next generation.
