About Naresh Iyer
Naresh Iyer is a versatile Indian playback singer with a soulful voice who has worked in several languages. Born on January 3, 1981, in Mumbai, he developed a passion for music from an early age and went on to make it his successful career. His breakthrough came when he emerged as the winner of the reality singing show "Channel [V] Super Singer," which was noticed by music legend A. R. Rahman.
Rahman provided Naresh his big break with the songs "Roobaroo" and "Tu Bin Bataye" for the film "Rang De Basanti" (2006). "Roobaroo" was a national hit, and Naresh received the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer. This propelled him into the limelight and made him one of the most promising voices in the world of Indian cinema.
Naresh's forte is his capacity to easily fit into any genre of music. From a soulful romantic ballad like "Munbe Vaa" in "Sillunu Oru Kaadhal" to a lively number like "Paathshala" in "Rang De Basanti," he adds a personal emotional depth to each song. He has sung in a number of languages, such as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, and his versatility in voice range and ability is astounding.
