Born in Mumbai on 20th October 1987, Mudassar comes from a humble background. At eight, he developed the ardor for dance at a time when his family was witnessing an economic crisis. To save his family and continue with school, M.T.S. Khalas High School, he joined Prakash Degree College in Kandivali as his secondary school and started teaching dancing at schools.
His dedication to dance was not shaken even by threats and adversities. He participated in many dance competitions to earn several titles, putting his name on the map in the dance community. One of the significant turning points in his life came when he got the opportunity to present himself before Salman Khan during one of such competitions. After watching his choreography for a while, Salman Khan did give him an opportunity to choreograph the song "Desi Beat" in the movie Bodyguard (2011). This was the starting point in his thriving career as a Bollywood choreographer.
Since then, Mudassar Khan has done choreography for many hit songs, including that of "Humka Peeni Hai" from Dabangg and "Tera Hero Idhar Hai" from Main Tera Hero. He became a household name thanks to his role as a judge on the popular dance reality show Dance India Dance. His funky numbers, well-blending in Bollywoodesque with hip-hop and freestyle moves, made him fabulous within public reach as well as with celebrities.
