About Last Minute India
Last Minute India is a Hindi pop and alternative rock band based in Mumbai, known for emotionally charged songs and hard-hitting performances. The group began with a band of engineering students who got together over their love for music. The lineup consists of Purusharth Jain (vocals and keys), Subodh Gupta (bass and vocals), Austin Furtado (lead guitar), Bhumit Gor (guitar), and Samaksh Namdev on drums.
Themes related to love, heartbreak, longing, and self-discovery are a common thread in their music that manages to engage the listener quite effectively. With poetic lyrics and soulful melody lines, they have created an unconventional niche in the Indian indie music scene. Artists within their ranks have fared well at generating songs of warm Hindi sentiments against a backdrop of more contemporary rock arrangements, resulting in material that is both introspective and high-octane.
Last Minute India's discography boasts many singles celebrated by the" masses—"Jaane Anjaane," "Rehnuma," "Kaagaz Ki Naav," and "Bas Mere Hi Ho." In 2024, they released yet another single with singer Kuldeep Pattanaik: "Kaise." With a theme focalized by the pain of being unnoticed in love, "Kaise" drew attention through its raw lyrics and emotionally tilting vocal delivery wedded to a soothing composition. The song stood out among the rest for allowing the band to etch profound sentiments through a very minimalist yet powerful sound.
A big moment for the band came into being in March 2025 with a completely sold-out show at the prestigious Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). They are known to build a following with their engaging stage presence, tight musical coordination, and engaging performances, especially among youth and collegiate crowds across the country.
Currently, they use Instagram and YouTube to connect directly with their fans, where they regularly upload music videos, brief acoustic sessions, and recording clips that offer a sneak peek behind the curtains of their journey. Last Minute India continues to evolve as one of the most relatable and heartfelt acts of the Indian indie scene, receiving recognition for both its originality and emotional transparency.
