Gaurav S Medatwal is an Indian playback singer and performer from Udaipur, Rajasthan. He was born on September 18, 1995. Gaurav realized his love for music early in life and had formal training in Indian classical music under Rita Kaul, who also guided another famous singer, Armaan Malik. Gaurav studied further to attain a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication from Sinhgad Institute of Technology, Lonavala.
Gaurav's career in music started as a keyboardist in a band before moving on to singing. His hard work and natural talent saw him take part in several singing competitions, where he was highly successful. He was the second runner-up in the "Inter College Singing Competition" and "Sinhgad Idol" in 2014 and 2015, respectively. These early successes paved the way for his growing music career.
In 2018, Gaurav became a national sensation as the first runner-up of Season 8 of "India's Got Talent," a well-known reality show. This gave him a platform to enter the Bollywood music industry. He debuted as a playback singer with the song "Niyam Ho" for the movie "Super 30," featuring Hrithik Roshan. His soulful voice and emotional rendition earned him praise from audiences and critics alike.
Extending his catalog, Gaurav also provided his voice for the remade theme song of "Kaun Banega Crorepati" (KBC) in 2019. Joining hands with noted composers Ajay-Atul, he assisted in the choral work that provided a new and dynamic edge to the classic game show's theme music.
