About Gargi Dange

Gargi Dange is one of the famous Indian Kathak dancers and classical vocalists who resides in Pune, Maharashtra. She is a dedicated artist and educator even after more than ten years in the field. She received rigorous training in both the Jaipur and Lucknow gharanas under Guru Vedanti Bhagwat Mahadik, which is again reflected in her presentation combining intricate footwork with graceful movements and expressive storytelling.

Aside from her incredible dancing talents, Gargi also stands as a Hindustani classical vocalist. Under the tutelage of Guru Medha Paranjape, she learns Indian classical music from the Gwalior and Lucknow gharanas. Musically, she enriches her Kathak performances, thus rendering her presentations much-layered artistry between rhythm and melody.

Not only is she a performer but also an educator. Besides that, she is also an assistant dance instructor at the Layom Institute of Arts and Media, as well as running independent classes on her own to train the future generation of dancers. Her sincere devotion to teaching and disciplined attitude have gained Gargi much respect in the world of classical arts.

Numerous accolades include first prize in a classical dance competition at Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth and certificates of appreciation from several organizations associated with UNESCO. Gargi has been a very active participant in competitions, both at the college level and professional levels, such as COEP, Symbiosis, and Kalanubhuti Dance Competition, among others, that have brightened her versatility and commitment.
