The concept of the band draws upon Bharatmuni's Natyashastra dating back to the 2nd century B.C. to represent the soul and identity of Bharat (India) through music. It was based on the foundation of Indian classical music but with fresh melodic and western influences creating a powerful fusion sound that reverberates so deep within all types of listeners.

Dhruvaa is an Indo-Sanskrit fusion band, which was founded on 24 January 2015 by young music composer, singer, and Sanskrit scholar, Dr. Sanjay Dwivedi. Dhruvaa is a project born out of the need to popularize Sanskrit among the young minds since Sanskrit is not only a means of communication but is also the soul of Indian philosophy, culture, arts, and literature. Dr. Dwivedi and all members of the band have an extreme love for music that would lead one towards peace, happiness, and devotion.
