Blushing Satellite, an innovative musical band, makes a sonic presentation that is simultaneously transformative and mesmerizing, with ingredients of psychedelic and R&B or jazz and rock and trip-hop and ambient music. With its base in India, Mahesh Raghunandan's rich vocals are further complemented by Deepak Raghu on the drums and Arjun Ramdas on the bass, forming the trio of uncompromising musical chemistry.
On their nine-track album, "The Union," they sowed moments of contemplation, confidence in the self, and love. Tracks like "Dream Nightmare Union" have even spanned 15 minutes of an ambitious journey, swooping the listener from disorienting moods to apocalyptic crescendos and bringing him back into calming resolutions. And every track is a story in itself, through which the band weaves profoundly deep narratives through music.
Blushing Satellite gears up to enter the music mainstream once again this September 24th in Bengaluru, following its two-year stay away from active performances. However, not changing its artistic outlook, the band, for this occasion, will skip the CD format and make these adult coloring books an iconographic representation of what the album deals with. These books have been designed from Ragamuffin Illustration by Sheena Deviah with artwork and song lyrics that create an opportunity to listen to this music on another level, therapeutic.
"Our music is designed in a way as to give us a meditative experience," notes Raghunandan. "Through these coloring books, we strive to give out a sense of therapy and healing, letting the audience connect not just aurally but visually also with the music.
