Anuj Gurwara was born on June 9, 1981, in Hyderabad, India, and is a multi-talented Indian artist who is best known as a playback singer, actor, radio jockey, voice artist, and emcee. He became a household name with the hit Telugu song "Panchadara Bomma" from the blockbuster film Magadheera (2009), for which he won several accolades, including the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer (Telugu).
Anuj pursued his degree in psychology and advertising at Nizam College, Hyderabad. He entered the advertising profession with a focus on copywriting and content development before almost immediately entering the performing arts. He would prove his worth in theater in the beginning stages of his journey, working with the Dramatic Circle Hyderabad before segueing into films and music.
As an actor, he participated in various well-known projects like Hyderabad Blues 2 (2004), Anand (2004), and Maryada Ramanna (2010). He made a substantial contribution to Indian theater via his performance in The Open Couple, nominated for several awards at the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards 2014.
Anuj became a huge name in the radio world as a well-known radio jockey for Radio City 91.1 FM, winning the title of "India's Best Radio Host" in 2008. He is equally gifted at voice-overs and dubbing. Among his notable works is the Hindi version of the Telugu movie Eega, named Makkhi, where he worked as a lyricist, singer, and voice artist.
Apart from these activities, Anuj has attained recognition as an MC and has hosted over a thousand events, one of which included the Times Food and Nightlife Awards in all ten cities across India. He is brilliant, charming, and has an amazing screen presence, making him a favorite host for corporate and entertainment events.
Anuj married pilot and writer Hana Mohsin Khan in October 2023. Together, they personify the blending together of creative and dynamic personalities and continue to inspire many all over the country.
