About Acrimony Band

When tagged, we prefer being called a "New Wave of Indian Metal" band because of our fondness towards heavy metal and Indian classical music, yet “Modern Progressive Metalcore” best describes Acrimony’s basic approach towards its sound. The band experiments continually with its sound, which stretches wide enough to incorporate elements of ample sub-genres of metal, progressive structures, calculated juxtapositions, and Indian classical styles.

The band's members share a mutual belief in "innovate what's in hand, invent what's not." From our diverse backgrounds, we've brought forth our own influences to the table—societal as well as musical—and consequently, the band's eventual sound has come out to be abundantly varied.

For some it may be the music, for many it may be the by-products. But we are wretched enough not to care about all that. You close your eyes & try to breathe some fresh air, & all you can smell is reminiscence of the number of times you choked within the endless yet widening gap between people; the times they shook hands with you, hugged you, kissed you, then scarred your face & bruised your heart; the times you were forsaken without a reason & you could only see question marks as far as you could see; the times your father would look at you, say nothing, but those wink-less eyes would convey how disappointed he was in you; the times your parents would cheat on each other right in front of you & you had to act that you were miniature enough not to be able to put together the puzzle & figure them out; the times you hated being yourself & the times you hated the world; the times you'd see them bay each other's blood in the name of their belief, & you knew how stupid they were being still you could only stand & watch them batter humanity; the times you saw them twinge & twist & play around with the balance in nature & suddenly felt you do actually care, & then calamity struck & paid them back tenfold, & you felt cold as you knew they deserved this! Nothing lasts forever, and there were purple patches too, but then again, nothing lasts forever. The one term for all of this, "Acrimony", is the name we go by.

Acrimony released a couple of promo tracks ["Teaser—False Vacuum" & "Dark & Blissful"] in early December 2011, followed by the release of its debut EP, “False Vacuum,” on December 21, 2011.
