About Kamal Khan

Kamal Khan, born on April 25, 1989, in Reeth Kheri village near Patiala, Punjab, is an Indian playback singer known for his soulful voice and versatility. His journey into music started at the age of five under the guidance of his uncle, Ustad Shauqat Ali Deewana, who introduced him to the beauties of classical music. In spite of early family reluctance to take up a career in music, Kamal's unrelenting passion propelled him to join different singing competitions, slowly making a name for himself in the field.

Kamal's major breakthrough occurred in 2010 when he was a part of the reality singing show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar." With the guidance of music director duo Vishal-Shekhar, Kamal impressed with his soulful performances. His hard work and talent paid off as he emerged victorious in the competition on December 25, 2010, which became a turning point in his career.

After his win, Kamal debuted in Bollywood playback singing with the song "Wallah Re Wallah" for the movie "Tees Maar Khan" (2010), written by Vishal-Shekhar. But it was the song "Ishq Sufiyana" for the movie "The Dirty Picture" (2012) that shot him to mass fame. This song not only highlighted his singing skills but also won him several awards, including the Zee Cine Award for "Fresh Singing Talent 2012 (Male)" and the Mirchi Music Award for "Male Vocalist of The Year."

Kamal released the Punjabi-English blend song "Dilli Sara" featuring Kuwar Virk in 2017. The song was a viral hit overnight, garnering more than 150 million views on YouTube as of May 2022, and cementing his spot further in the Punjabi music industry.
