About Dhruv Visvanath

Dhruv Visvanath is a singer-songwriter, composer, and producer with a distinctive percussive guitar playing style and emotive storytelling.  Born in New Delhi, he spent his childhood moving around the globe with his father's work, and this exposed him to a variety of musical influences.  He started playing the piano at age seven before switching to the guitar at age thirteen, creating a distinctive playing style that differentiates him.

He is internationally recognized and was included in Acoustic Guitar Magazine's esteemed "30 Great Guitarists Under 30" list, becoming the sole Indian artist to receive this recognition.  His first album, Orion, in 2015, was critically acclaimed for fusing electro-acoustic textures with emotionally powerful songwriting.  His second release, The Lost Cause, was highly acclaimed and placed among the top Indian albums of 2018.

Aside from his solo work, he has also been active in the Indian cinema scene. He has worked with noted composers on productions such as Sonchirya and Skater Girl and as a collaborator on production work.  His skill at blending modern music with traditional elements has established him as a popular artist across different musical venues.

In 2022, he dropped Demons, an EP that reflected a darker, more introspective aspect of his artistry.  The release caught on with fans, solidifying his reputation for making music that is innovative and intensely personal.  His ability also brought him to the world stage when he was invited to compete in an international singing competition in Nashville, where he made it to the final four contestants.
