Devi Sri Prasad, lovingly referred to as DSP, is a prominent Indian music director, singer, and lyricist, admired for his energetic contribution to Telugu and Tamil films. He was born on August 2, 1979, in Vedurupaka, Andhra Pradesh. He grew up in a Telugu-speaking family with a rich cultural background; his father, G. Satyamurthy, was a well-known screenwriter in Telugu cinema. DSP's introduction to the arts at an early age, together with his natural musical ability, laid the groundwork for a career that would go on to thrive in the Indian film industry.

DSP's own musical career started with the launch of his first album, "Dance Party," in 1997, where he shared the stage with S. P. Charan, son of the iconic singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam.
