Over 500 local sound service providers supported the setup, alongside top event companies from Delhi and Mumbai, managing LED walls, lighting, and AV systems.
Additionally, 40,000+ LED bulbs were installed for common area illumination across the entire fair zone, making the venue safe and festive at night. UNESCO has recognized the Kumbh Mela as an ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity,’ adding to its global prestige.
Technology and Connectivity
In this digital era, the administration left no stone unturned in ensuring digital outreach and connectivity. Over 10 crore SMS messages were sent to citizens and pilgrims with vital updates, emergency contacts, and navigation info.
To enhance digital connectivity, over 4,000 public Wi-Fi hotspots were installed in the Mela zone to help pilgrims stay connected with their families and share their spiritual experiences in real time.
Traffic and Parking Infrastructure
To accommodate the massive inflow of devotees, 95 parking spots and 18 satellite parking zones were created around Prayagraj. These were supported with shuttle buses and signage systems to guide visitors. The authorities also set up luggage deposit counters to safely store belongings of pilgrims, improving comfort and safety.
Tent Cities and Hospitality
The Kumbh isn’t just a religious event—it has become a luxurious spiritual experience. Over 10 tent cities were created with high-end accommodations, lounge areas, and dedicated dining spaces. Visitors could book these tents online, with packages including cultural tours, guided dips in the Sangam, and wellness sessions like yoga and meditation.
All the large-scale event production and tent house companies from Allahabad, Lucknow, Kanpur, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Varanasi contributed to the success of this mega event. The planning started years in advance and involved civil engineers, event planners, security experts, and sanitation professionals.
